Ask Claude about your shifts and tasks in plain words, from claude.ai, the Claude apps or Claude Code. Claude sees only what you can see.
Last updated:
In short
In Settings → Connected apps, follow How to connect Claude. It takes a minute.
Then ask Claude things like “What’s left on my shift?”. Claude acts as you and sees only what you can see in Relay.
Before Claude changes anything, it shows you the change and waits for your OK (on some setups, small changes you can undo, like ticking a task, may happen right away). Revoke the connection any time in Connected apps.
Who can connect
Connecting Claude is switched on per clinic and per person. If Settings has a Connected apps row, it’s on for you. If not, ask whoever runs Relay for your clinic.
Doctors, general managers and students can all connect, each with their own account.
Claude sees only what you see in the app. A student’s Claude can’t see more than the student.
What Claude reads leaves Relay and is sent to Anthropic to answer you. Relay holds no patient details, and your clinic’s rules on AI tools still apply.
Connect claude.ai, Claude Desktop or the Claude app
In Relay, open Settings → Connected apps and open How to connect Claude1.

How to connect Claude, opened.
1How to connect Claude
2The server address
In Claude, go to “Customize” → “Connectors” and choose “Add custom connector”. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it once in “Organization settings” → “Connectors”.
Enter the server address shown in Relay (2), exactly as shown. If Claude asks how to identify itself, keep “Use Claude’s published identity”.
Click “Connect”. Relay opens: sign in, check which app is asking, and tap Allow. Reading is always included. Making changes is offered only when Claude asks for it.
The connection now shows in Connected apps. A connector added on claude.ai works in Claude Desktop and the mobile app too. In a chat, turn Relay on under “+” → “Connectors”.
Connect Claude Code (with an access token)
In Connected apps, tap Advanced: access token.Creating an access token.
1Name
2Expires after
3Allow ticking tasks
4Create token
Give it a Name(1), such as “Laptop”, never patient details. Choose when it Expires after(2): 7, 30 or 90 days.
Leave Allow ticking tasks(3) off for read-only access. (It appears only when changes from Claude are on for your role.)
Tap Create token(4). Then tap Copy command, and run it in a terminal. The token is shown only this once: if you lose it, revoke it and create a new one.
In Claude Code, run /mcp: “relay” should be listed as connected.
Claude Code can also sign in like the apps, without a token: add Relay with claude mcp add --transport http relay followed by the server address, then run /mcp and choose “Authenticate”.
You can have up to 5 active tokens.
What to ask
“What’s left on my shift?”
“What does tomorrow’s night shift look like?”
“Which tasks roll over at the end of my shift?”
“Which shifts can I still join this week?”
“Do I have unread notifications?”
Doctors and general managers: “Which shifts this week still need people?” or “Who is on the team?”
Claude answers from Relay as it is right now, as you. It can’t see anything your role can’t see.
When Claude wants to change something
If changes are allowed for your connection, Claude can also do small things for you, such as ticking a task. Normally it shows you each change first, and nothing happens until you confirm in Claude. Your clinic may let small changes you can undo, like ticking a task, happen right away: the Allow ticking tasks switch says which applies to you. Anything else always waits for your OK.
Some changes, like putting someone on a shift or taking them off, also wait for you in Relay. On Home they are one row in the Needs you card, such as “A change from Claude to review”, which opens Waiting for your approval. They also show at the top of Connected apps.
Check what it does, then tap Approve or Decline. A request expires after 5 minutes; ask Claude again if you still want it.
These changes never happen until you approve them in Relay.
Revoke a connection
In Connected apps, tap ⋮ next to the connection.
Tap Revoke, and confirm. It stops working immediately, and this can’t be undone.
Removing the connector in Claude may not remove it in Relay. Revoke it here too.
A token stops working on its expiry date. An app stays connected as long as it’s used at least once every 30 days.
Doctors see everyone’s connections in Team → Connected apps, can revoke any of them, and can Revoke all at once if a token may have leaked.

No Connected apps in Settings
Connecting Claude isn’t on for you. Ask whoever runs Relay for your clinic.
Connecting AI assistants isn’t enabled for your account.
Same as above: your account isn’t on the list yet.
You already have 5 active tokens. Revoke one to create another.
Revoke a token you no longer use.
Claude Code says it isn’t authorised
The token expired, was revoked or was mistyped. Create a new one and run the command again.
An app that worked asks you to connect again
It was revoked, or not used for 30 days. Connect again from Claude.
Good to know
Give each token a name that says where it lives (“Laptop”, “Home PC”), so you know which one to revoke.
Claude is a helper, not the record: the checklist in Relay is what counts.
