Protocols: the steps around a procedure
Write down once what has to happen before, on the day of and after a procedure, so every event gets its steps by itself.

In short
- A protocol is a reusable list of steps around a procedure, such as a call the day before or a follow-up check after two weeks.
- When you add an event and pick a protocol, Relay copies its steps into the event, and each step lands on the checklist of the right shift.
- Doctors and general managers manage protocols in Events → Protocols.
What a protocol is
Each step says what to do, how many days before or after the procedure, and who does it. For example, for a lip filler with a history of herpes: start antiviral prophylaxis 3 days before (general manager, urgent), a pre-procedure call the day before (students), and a follow-up check 14 days after.
A protocol never contains patient details. It describes the procedure, not the person. The person appears only as a case code on the event. See Events and case codes.
The list shows New protocol (1), then each protocol with its number of steps (2). Tap one to open it; its calendar tag is inside. Protocols you no longer use are under Archived (3).
